1. Who We Are
Renbi operates renbi.app and the Renbi conversation practice service. Renbi is operated by Chansa Kabwe, sole proprietor, based in Zambia. We rely on third-party service providers as described in Section 4.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information — email address, display name, and authentication metadata, provided when you sign up.
- Conversation data— the audio you record during a session and the resulting transcripts of your speech and the AI character's replies. We use this to power the conversation and to generate your post-session feedback.
- Usage data — session duration, conversation counts, and other metadata used to enforce fair-use limits.
- Payment data — handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card details.
- Email-list data — if you subscribe to product updates from the homepage, we store the email you provide.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve conversation practice.
- To generate post-conversation feedback on your Japanese.
- To monitor fair-use limits and prevent abuse.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
- To send service-related communications.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your conversation data to train AI models.
4. Service Providers
Renbi uses third-party service providers to operate the platform, each of which processes data under its own privacy and data-processing terms. These include providers for AI services, account authentication, hosting and infrastructure, operational monitoring, and payment processing. Our payment processor acts as our Merchant of Record for subscriptions and handles card processing, billing, and applicable taxes.

5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers described in Section 4 so they can perform services on our behalf. We may also disclose information where we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, or an enforceable governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Renbi, our users, or the public. If Renbi is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal data.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure, including encryption in transit and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
Conversation audio is discarded shortly after it has been used to generate your transcript. Transcripts and usage data are retained while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing hello@renbi.app; we will action the request within 30 days.
8. International Transfers
Renbi is operated from Zambia and uses providers located in multiple jurisdictions, including the United States and the European Union. By using the Service you understand that your data will be transferred to and processed in those jurisdictions.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
10. Children
Renbi is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or on this page at least 14 days before they take effect.
